I have 3 cockerels and 5 pullets I hatched out from Dick Horstman eggs...they are 4 months old so not laying yet. They are so dark and have a great body type. Can't wait till they start giving me eggs to hatch...LOL

well, i am sure they are show-able, but i haven't done it myself. i do have a bunch of 4 H kids showing some i hatched out this year. it is a recognized RIR and the Rose Comb is legal. so is a Pea Comb. so i am assuming you could. you'd have to double check for yourself just to be sure.

they are knock outs. i'll try to get some more pics with them tomorrow if it isn't raining too much.

the eggs are a lovely cream to light pinkish brown. same as a SC RIR.

the chicks are so docile. they just nap away in your hand.
