You know, spiders really didn't bother me too much, UNTIL about 3months ago...one of my co workers was talking about her neighbor had gotten bit by a brown recluse and how bad it looked. I googled it and saw the victims from other attacks and now when I see a spider of any size I freak out. last week i was watching t.v. and one came across the floor about the size of a dime and I jumped up on the sofa and the dogs were looking at me like...whoa dad, what's happening. LOL

The chick is fine, if a little afraid of bugs now.

I used to work for a family doctor. Woman came in with a brown recluse bite that had nearly eaten her calf muscle up. Yucky.

Yeah..when i worked in the rehab nursing home ..a guy had a recluse bite on his lowe leg.(shin part i think...).. it was NASTY...
And i think he ended up having to get it amputated because it just wouldnt heal..(he was a diabetic..)

I don't like spiders at all but earwigs are the ones that really creep me out! I was so excited to see Henry (my big white rooster) gobble one up the other day.

I just know that he was doing it to protect me.

That would have freaked me out to beyond rational behavior.

And that picutre of the wolf spider made me back up from the monitor

I think if we lived where they had THOSE I would never go outside again. And ppl would be hosed down before entering the house. And every crack sealed.

Wow, i had no idea they could do that much damage, poor wee chickie.

When I was out filling waterers tonight big ol' grasshoppers kept jumping on my legs, so I was catching them and offering them to the meaties. Caught a nice fat juicy one and offered it to the chick that was bitten, his name is Dinner. He wanted nothing to do with it. Poor thing. Might need chickie therapy.

I used it to treat my chicken's wounds after she was attacked by a dog. It works for small punctures and bitemarks- or at least it worked for me

For posterity, triple antibiotic ointment/neosporin is great for chickens as long as you get it without pain reliever. The pain reliever ingredients ending in "caine" are poisonous to your chickens.
