So I let my little chicks out of their little "coop" this morning while I was outside doing chores. I made sure my dog was with me the whole time. I gathered eggs from the big chickens coop and took them inside. I was inside for about 1 1/2 minutes. When I came back my dog had one of chickens on its back and was getting ready to finish killing it.
I locked the dog up and then examined the chick. Something under its beak is basically torn off. (See Pictures). Something happened to its neck about a week ago and that wasn't from the dog. Is there anything I need to do? Bandage the wound? Separate it? It is eating with the other chicks. Any help is appreciated.
