6 week old chicks sneezing

If it's an occasional sneeze - especially when they have been eating/drinking, I would just monitor and make sure there's plenty of ventilation. If the frequency of sneezing increases, there's mucous, , facial swelling, coughing, watery or bubbly eyes, lethargy or they don't want to eat/drink then there's cause for concern - you would be dealing with a respiratory disease.
Thank you very much for you help :) Is clear discharge from nose when they sneezing is ok? No mucus.

Did it clear up when you removed the Apple cider vinegar and garlic?
Thanks for you reply. I set outside and observe them to see who is sneezing and how much. I noticed they all sneezing outside as well, some more then others. Closer to the evening about 4 hr later it’s seems to be less sneezing. I guess I have to try ACD and garlic later? Hemp bedding feels much better, not so much dust. I’ll have to see tomorrow morning how things are.

How are they after you just provided plain fresh water?
A clear discharge is not desirable either, but if they are acting normal, then treatment would not be necessary at this time. A discharge can be from dirt/debris/food/water in the nostrils. Mold, mildew, ammonia, dusty bedding and poor ventilation are all things to investigate as well. Even if birds have access to outside, if they are closed up tightly for the night without enough ventilation, then it would take hours for them to stop sneezing. Over time, if ventilation is lacking, then respiratory issues would escalate.

I would stop the vinegar and garlic too. There's no need or purpose to giving these things.

An occasional sneeze is nothing to worry about. Watch for behaviors like sitting hunched or not eating and being sluggish. At their age they need a good chick starter and fresh clean water. A bit of scrambled eggs is a good treat. Otherwise nothing else is necessary.

Thank you for your reply. This morning they seems not sneezing, I heard only maybe 2 times in 30 min. Wood shavings are very dusty, even I sneezed few times. I had to mop floors every day in room where they are. No more ACV and garlic :)

Thank you for your reply. This morning there is not much sneezing, maybe occasionally. Eating and drinking. Eating 20% protein chick starter and sometimes I give them eggs. Sales assistant said to me it would be beneficial for immune system. I’m a first time have chickens and I learn as I go. Will they need at at all in a future ACD and garlic? :) Thank you

I have never used either thing. They are said to beneficial by many people, but there's no real science behind it. Giving too much of either can cause problems in my opinion.

Just update. All chickens been sneezing from time to time for a past week since my original post but today it’s been colder day and they sneezed more then usual. I noticed one of my chickens making rattling noises and heavy breathing. No mucous, no swelling anywhere, eyes and nose clear. Only lots of sneezing and head shaking. Rattling noise only from one of the chicks. They eating and drinking as usual. Could it be respiratory or something else? Thank you
