6 week old chicks

I have 6 week old hens and roosters that are going into a converted shed… it has plenty off ventilation with windows that close for safety and in colder temps… it is going to be a low of about 45 degrees is that too cold for chicks that have been in a warm basement with heat lamps? Also… I have plenty of straw and wood chips

If they have all of their feathers they will be fine, if not, still provide a heat lamp because 45 is a bit cold for chicks without all their feathers.

They should be feathered enough at 6 weeks to be outside in those temperatures however it sounds like you haven't weaned them off heat completely? Get them off heat completely for a few days, then move them out.

They should by fine with a heat light on 24/7 for the time being.
