6 week old Polish

I tried to get some better photos though we weren’t quite happy about the morning photo session. Haha! Hopefully these help. Thanks.

Too early to be definitive but from what I can see, looks to be a female. More rounded crest and no wattle formation at this age.

What makes you think male? We are super new to chickens. I originally thought male but now that I see how the crest is coming in it doesn’t seem as crazy as the male crests I see when I research it.

The deep set of the comb, and how the feathers are starting to point outwards on the front. All my crested ladies also have tighter feathering on their crests. I've got some around this age right now, I'll post some pictures of what I'm talking about if I remember to some time this afternoon.

I notice the same about some of the feathers pointing out - but sometimes I think they are wet from the water bowl! I would love to see your pictures to compare. Thanks.

Also, curious what type of Polish our friend is considered. We got 2 from an assorted Polish bin at a local farm. Our other is clearly a white crested bantam. Would the one pictured be considered buff laced?
