6 week old with red eye

Update on our little girl.

She just sits there, all puffed up. She won't stand up, she won't eat or drink. She opens and closes her mouth but won't take food or water, even if I put it in her mouth. I'm really getting worried about her. The redness around her eye has lessened, but now she won't open it. Any additional advice or should we prepare for the worst? All of our other birds are acting normally.

Can you take her to the vet?
How does her poop look?

Being fluffed up, she may also be suffering from Cocci. Treatment is with Corid which can be found at your feed store or online. A vet can test a fresh poop sample to see if there is an overload if that's the route you want to take.

With the swollen eye, not eating/drinking, lethargy and not standing, she is in a bad state. It's possible she may have a respiratory illness or some other infection, but without discharge and other symptoms like coughing, sneezing, etc., it would be hard to know the cause.

Do your best to get her hydrated. Offer poultry vitamins if you have them, you can give her a little sugar water to see if that gives her a boost.

Corid dosage is 1 1/2 teaspoons Corid powder per gallon or 2 teaspoons of 9.6% Corid liquid per gallon. Give for 5-7 days - make sure this is the ONLY water available during that time period. Mix a fresh batch at least once a day.
