6 week Rhode a roo or a hen?

Oh dear! What age do their hormones kick in?
My hubby had a RI Roo that attacked everything in sight and even killed hens.

I don't want that!

Wow! Just looking at the picture again I can tell that the roo has a MUCH larger tail too!
I didn't notice that at first!

Yep it's a boy... I just had to rehome my 7-week old RIR roo as he kept HUMPING my hand, pinching my skin to the blood and basically attacking me all the time - oh boy do I not miss him...

Yours seems much milder-tempered!

He is very mild mannered, not Roo-like bahavior at all.
Do all Roos end up being killer chickens or can they be calmer sometimes?

We have Buff orpington that seems to rule the henhouse much more than the RI

Not all roos wind up being attack chickens. Give the guy a chance

My DH says they are both hens . Their feet are to small and their wattles are too short! I have a few RIR hens and also a few mixed reds/buff orps and two more I purchased as straight run and we know one is def a Roo! But our guess are hens!

Well I'm not going to guess I just wanted to say I've had 4 RIR Roo's and none of them were mean. I can go right up to them and pet them. I held them from the time I hatched them and none of them became mean. I would give it a couple more weeks to see for sure.
