It's been 6 weeks since I successfully broke my broody Silkie hen, and she still has not returned to laying! She has unlimited access to layer pellets and water and has a large, non-crowded area to roam around in. Can anyone explain to me why she hasn't got back to laying yet? and also does anyone have an idea when she might start again? Thanks for any replies.

I don't have any experience with silkies but I have with broody hens. It could be a breed specific thing, not sure what kind of layers they are. Could she be laying eggs elsewhere?

I also have read that the longer they are broody the longer it takes to get back in the groove. Maybe offer some extra protein and calcium

Maybe some one else has more ideas
