Nice to know. I will file it away for the future. But where were you when I was cussing and panicking in my backyard?I very much late to this but I have found that these types of combs get pink early even in hens. Wyandottes also have this comb type and they get a pink comb early. My hen had a red comb very early on at about 8 weeks. Pink/red combs early are definitely an indicator of cockerels for the most part except for these combs as they can also be a pullet too.
