We have a 6 yo Wyandotte that has really slowed down. She happily moves around with the flock, but stubbles a bit and will lie down to eat treats. She greets me when I go down to visit happily.
Lately she is having trouble getting up the ramp into the coop at night. She is still laying eggs but only once in a while.
Is there anything that I can do to help her feel more comfortable?
Thanks in advance.

She may have arthritis or have some reproductive issue, but it is great that she still lays eggs some. I would let her do what she feels like, and maybe bring her up into the coop when you can. Is it a steep ladder, or can you make it any easier for her? Steps might work better for her.

She has always been a "big" girl. I think that the ramp to the sleeping quarters is a bit narrow for her to get up. She comes down it fine in the mornings. Always happy to greet me. She's just a little wobbly at times. The arthritis angle may be part of the problem. I'm giving her a "lift" when all the others have gone in. I think I will try and make the ramp wider for all of them. It wouldn't hurt. Thanks for your response.
