Wow... this is tempting. My husband won't let me have more chickens. But I've always wanted Marans. Do you think you'll have these available in the summer or fall (if I can convince him)?

Yup
big_smile.png

They seem to lay very well, so as long as they're laying, I'll have 'em

Let me know when ya need any!

ANd tell you're husband, you're getting CHICKEN EGGS, not chickens
wink.png

What I plan on telling my BF
"You never said I couldn't get Duck EGGS"

So six speckled sussex eggs would be $15? How much would it be for shipping for 2 6packs? Also, do you have any pics of your birds? You're tempting me with these speckled sussex and welsummer crosses.....

LOL! Hey there!
big_smile.png

Yeah, just older pictures of the birds.
I'm getting sad of having to repost the same ones over and over (first the birds were molting, then it snowed, I lost the camera once or twice... THEN the other half of the flock decided to molt, it rained a few times AND now I have to look for my camera *face plant* mind you, I have TWO cameras???!!! SOMEWHERE!!!)
I'll post them in a bit if ya wanna see 'em still
wink.png

Hahaha, you know, you could always just order a dozen of them
wink.png
LOL, I suppose I can go get a dozen pack OR just tape them together to make a dozen LOL
big_smile.png
It'll just cost $15 (shipping + handling) to ship out a dozen, up to 3 dozen LOL

Surprisingly, everyone favors the Speckled Sussex X Welsummers over the Pure SS, they are SO darn freakin' cute it makes your face hurt!

Nope, sorry!
Tried too many eggs ($1000 worth) and out of many dozens, we have 3 we want and about 10-15 that were just extra eggs
wink.png

Tried a bunch of bators too; waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much work and I'm cursed!
big_smile.png

Let me know what you want to do! I am more than happy to fill you up to the top with eggs!

Hey lady, I have a question. Where did you say your Buff Orpington hen(s) are? Which pen? Most of the chicks are out now, and I pulled the majority of them from the bator already. Just waiting on 3 more Marans eggs to finish hatching, and for the one little Marans chick in there to dry off so I can move him to the brooder with the other chicks. I got some super teeny, tiny little bantam chicks from your eggs. Barely larger than a quarter! The one is so small he looks like he could be a quail chick, seriously! I have 4 bantams for sure from your eggs. One is light gray on top, dark gray on the bottom, another is a cute little honey red with feathered legs, one is a black Silkie, not sure if it's pure or mixes, suppose only time will tell with that one, and then there is the super tiny black one. Has 4 toes, feathered legs, no vaulted skull. What all did you have in your bantam pen again? I remember a Golden Campine, OEGB's (male AND female? I don't remember if you said or not), a RIR roo, and some Silkies, and Red Cochins, but I don't remember if you said you had males AND females of those either. I have moved only 1 Marans chick into the brooder. Others are still in the bator like I said before. But I sure did get a boatload of SS! I can't quite tell the SS from the SS/Wellie mixes. You'll have to point out who's who for me later. And then I got that one precious little honey colored chick, and as soon as it hatched, I knew it was not an SS or an SS/Wellie mix. It HAS to be a BO mix, though I can't remember which pen you said the BO's are in! They are all thriving and doing well. It's late and I'm tired, so I'll try to e-mail you some more pics tomorrow. Hopefully the last of the chicks will be hatched by morning so I can take the pics of the Marans too! Make sure you are checking your e-mails. I have cute chicks to show you!!!

Here's one to tide you over, lol:

So doggone cute! Those SS sure have personality! They should be interesting to raise. So far, I physically have I believe, 24 chicks hatched, all are alive, and I have 3 more Marans eggs still pipped. One is closer to zipping though. So that will be about 27 out of the 35 eggs of yours that made it into lockdown. Pretty impressive, eh? I will give you kudos, you sure know how to pack those eggs, and it's been a pleasure doing business with you!

At the time, the Buff Orpingtons were in a coop with a Black Copper Marans rooster - now they're MOVED in with the FBCMs to make it easier (their eggs are so much lighter, so easy for me to tell the difference!).

The Bantams include...
White Silkies - F
Blue Splash Silkies - M
OEGBs (Duckwing + Red Breasted) - F
Seabright - F
Buff Orpington - F
Golden Campine - F
Red Cochin Bantam - F
(F = female, M = male)

They use to have a Rhode Island Red Bantam Roo, Golden Campine Roo, Red Cochin Bantam Roo and a Gamebird Roo, but I believe I kicked them all out but for the GC, RIRB + Silkies Roo
big_smile.png

If the BOs have fuzzy feet and are big and darker (with black) pop is probably BCM roo

I NEED PEECHURES!!!
