6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

I live right in the middle of Ga.

I think I asked you before..what town..my son is home now...Whoot! After 2 yrs..he's home for Christmas!!

Last place he was in was Sandy Springs..but he was in Acworth for a while, and Americus, and Dallas.

Okay 11 clear eggs and 1 blood ring out of the bator. So 20 eggs still in the running with 3 = " ? " 1 being a cracked one that was repaired.

Now for the hatch rate (not for HAL contest), do we throw out the clear eggs and count what hatches out of fertile eggs (for our own records) ? I think for contest it's based on how many set to how many hatches.
How many days has it been? Someone else asked earlier "I think" and was told to wait a few more days on the clears.

I candle every night.

But I figure it is the same as the cool down mode on the new incubators.

Never has been detrimental to any of my hatches. I don't ever handle the eggs, always shining the light down through the tops. The Brinsea OvaView candler is so bright it lights up the eggs beautifully. Even the Marans eggs.

So far all 6 of the golden cuckoo Marans eggs are growing. Of the 8 Silkie eggs, one went missing, one had a blood ring and one quit (bad first time broody) so down to 5 growing.
cool down starts on day 8 and goes to day 18.

The Easter Hatch A Long has so many more participants and therefore moves at lightning speed!

Some of us just can't hatch in the middle of winter and have to wait for Spring to join in the fun!!

What did I say about a 100 posts easy for the EHAL? Well, I get on now and see over 100 here! What? Catching up. And, some of you guys are crazy, no, I will not even try to guess what bama wears to candle his eggs. I can almost picture his long red long johns.

Because I know he is always decent around the house. Now bama..don't get carried away with this comment..we want you here during..the duration of the Hatch A Long.
