Our daughter who is also a BYC member is expecting and due in April.Well one thing to be thankful for it will just be number 5. I have a nephew and his wife that are expecting child number 8.
Yes! They are in the egg section with the rest of the eggs. They are labeled as "fertile".
Quote: She is the prettiest little child now too. No signs of turning into a rooster at the last minute either.

Congratulations too.
Thank you! Our first grand child and it's a girl!Congratulations too.
Those are cuties!
I am amazed!
16 of 24 Trader Joes Fertile eggs are developing--I spent $2.99 a dozen for those eggs! The expiration day on them was 12-31--It should have been a hatch date on the carton!
The Blue Australorp eggs have 8 of 11 with veins and they were shipped!

Oooooo. I bet you're right! Apparently I was too tired when reading as that never entered my mind.Wanna bet the original word was "bazillion"?

Wait, you hatched the same eggs more than once??? Do you keep re-hatching them until you get a specific breed?
LOL
For water candling, you aren't looking for the egg to sink or float. You are just watching for it to rock and wiggle in the water. Sinking or floating is determined by the size of the air cell and is often used to determine if eating eggs are still good to eat.Water candling is done after day 15. And it isn't super reliable. I heard someone say they had an egg sink, and it still hatched. I do it just for fun! If it's hard to see through the shell, you may want to leave it for now. I have a few that have "shadows" that I've left in. If it's obviously clear, then there is nothing developing.
That would be my reason for getting them if I could get any around here.I think the trader joe eggs are kinda like a wrapped christmas pressie you get a surprise in each egg curiosity to see what kind of bird might come out also economical and sure a challenge for some ppl to hatch, I would also think it would be a nice way to try incubating and get experience without throwing huge somes of money away if you fail
Oh yes. The carton with a chick in it would be a dead giveaway of fertile eggs.I did the 1st time because I didn't want to spend $$$$ on hatching eggs my first try at incubating. I hatched 1 out of 12. The 2nd time was just for fun...and at $2.99/doz whats to lose? (ETA: 2nd try was 11/12!)
I love that site![]()
Yep, in the fridge isle with the rest of the eggs. I guess not all TJs carry fertile eggs though. Look for this carton:
Oops, don't have pic of the top...but it's green. (ETA: this was my first hatch)
Get that puppy outta there before it contaminates your other eggs!
Oooo, that would be nice if they were.Thank you.
On another note. I looked at the eggs at Whole Foods and they had inserts in the eggs and told what breed laid those eggs. They had eggs from three different farms there, their farm bane was on the carton. One farm had eggs from Amberlinks. Another had eggs from Bovan Browns and I can't remember what the other one was. Those were from the brown eggs. Too bad they weren't fertile.
Oh my gosh! Congratulations!
Congratulations....I would recommend borrowing Bama's flash light and candle again on day 10![]()
