How is the time for first chick hatched on NYD determined? I mean it says local time but who's local time? Just wondering

. My hens are still coming off the nest so I don't think they got the "lock down" memo.
Time where your are closest to midnight.

So there will be a winner for each time zone? I'm in the Eastern time zone.

Not for each time zone, which ever is closest to midnight according to their time zone..hard to explain..ey? Not sure I helped. Let's see.

If you hatch a chick at 11:59..your time zone, and I hatch a chick at 11:58 my time zone..you win. I hope I got that right. :)

There will be one winner for the first chick hatched. We will all have a midnight so the closest to midnight wins. For example, Eastern time zone has a chick hatch at 12:10. Central has one hatch at 12:07. Pacific has one at 12:05.

The chick hatched in the Pacific time zone wins.

I thought it was the first one AFTER midnight local time. (So 11:55 is no good but 12:05PST would beat 12:10EST)?
