The little black bantam has just started acting drowsy all the time, all three in the pic were hatched in the incubator, they are now in a large cage with a light on them because it has been really chilly during the nights here in NW Pa.. she has been eating and drinking but doesnt seem to be as active as the other two are, this all started about 3 days ago.. when they were about 2 weeks old she did have really runny droppings, but now its not very often, anyone have any suggestions why she might be this way all of a sudden..

Hi @Ladyliza

Can you post some photos of her poop?

It's hard to know with chicks, but my first thought would be Coccidiosis. Treatment is with Corid which can be found at most feed stores in the cattle section.

Dosage is 1 1/2 teaspoons Corid powder per gallon or 2 teaspoons of 9.6% Corid liquid per gallon. Give for 5-7 days - make sure this is the ONLY water available during that time period. Mix a fresh batch at least once a day.

You can let all the chicks have the treated water if you wish, it won't hurt.

After you finish the course of treatment, offer poultry vitamins and probiotics/yogurt for a couple of days.
