Last Thursday my 2 year old chicken was weak, not eating and diarrhea. She stands and acts like she is trying to lay an egg. No egg felt anywhere. I tried bathing her in Epsom salt, cleaned up butt.I have been giving her water hourly with syringe and nutradrench once a day. She stayed the same for 4 days. No vets around as I have been calling for days with no luck. Today, she seems better, eating a little of her food and water. Walking slow but more alert. Tail still down. Still pushing and runny poop. Her head is not sunk in neck so much and feathers not as flared, but still some. Now, her poop has these chunks of raw hamburger texture, color of raw chicken. No eggs since Thursday. I am in NE Ohio. Has anyone experienced this?

It could be that she has a reproductive disorder salpingitis. The pink material resembles lash egg material, from salpingitis or inflammation of the oviduct. The yellow urates is usually from bile and leakage of fluids from the liver. Her tsil is down, and that can be common in reproductive disorders. I would offer her a human calcium tablet with vitamin E today, and then once a day for the next 7 days unless she lays a normal egg. Is she eating and drinking? What do you feed? Is she eating and drinking?

Today she started to eat and drink but small amounts. I normally feed her scratch and peck grower feed. Oyster shell and grit available always. I was worried because she wasnt touching the shell or grit so I got some chick feed. Not sure if that was a good thing or not.

Thank you! Yes I have some. I gave it to her the first 2 days. I stopped incase I was making it worse. I will give it to her.

I agree, those bits of pink material look like Lash Material. Salpingitis.

The extra calcium may help her expel more material, so I'd give that to her for a total of 7 days.

Non Medicated Chick Starter is fine to give, it won't hurt her.

Do you have an antibiotics on hand? Sometimes if caught fairly early, an antibiotic can help with Salpingitis which is inflammation of the oviduct.
