6wk old ducklings and their swamp pit

We moved our 2 6wk old welsh harlequin ducklings out into their shaded run 1 wk ago ,they are secure in the duck house at night,the grass is about gone,they have a 6 gallon rubber tub to bath in for now . Question they have straw in their house but they have a swampy poop stomping run I see in their future help !!! What do I put in the run,and how do I clean it? We have 12 chickens they are way easier to clean

I have a gravel base down with sand over top. It allows for easy drainage and dries quickly.. In the house I use pine shavings in the summer and pine and straw mixed in the winter..

How big is the run?
Under my ducks pool I put a layer of sand and then river rock. It is easy to clean off with the hose. My run is pretty large, large enough there is still grass in spots (most of the grass was demolished by the chickens first.)
I have pine shavings in the duck house too.

At 6 weeks the ducks were so messy I was ready to eat them all, at 12 weeks, the mess subsides and they are much more enjoyable.
