Hey everyone!

So I have strong hunches but I’d love if someone with strong knowledge has any opinions.
Regardless of the outcomes, I am able to keep all cockerels where I’m at and honestly I’m hoping some of these are!!

1 & 2 - 5.5 week Columbian Wyandotte - hopeful 1 is cockerel and 2 is pullet. But I feel like they’ll both end up pullets.
3 & 4 - 5.5-6.5 week speckled Sussex. 4 has ALWAYS been bigger than 3. But 3’s base of its comb is honestly fairly red. Neither of them have much of a tail, but 3’s is much smaller than 4. - same as 1&2- hopeful they’re one of each, but I feel like they’re both pullets.

5- 5.5-6.5 week Easter Egger.. reminds me a lot of my starlight Egger but by this point she was already much darker. - my starlight Egger has a fairly red comb and peek a boo waddles early, and it stopped. I don’t know if this one will do the same.

6 & 7 - my suspected and hopeful appenzeller cockerels. They are only 3.5 weeks so still fairly early. I have a 3rd one but her bonnet is already a little crazy and not high and tight like a cockerels would be.

Just trying to get a gauge. I know it’s still early. But man I’m hoping for some Roos!

Im not seeing anything that screams cockerel on any of them. The Appenzeller i think its a bit to early repost her/him in 2 weeks

I'm not experienced with those breeds, so I won't vote on genders, but I know how hard it is to wait when you're curious! They're super cute.

Extremely 🤣 I would love one of each.
My appenzellers, I already have 1 fully grown. And 1 of the 3 chicks I have, 1 is definitely a female. But these 2 I think are male. I just know they’re more experience people on this board with appenzellers 🤣

Nobody seems to be a cockerel at the moment, they have no obvious details that point to being a male. #3 has quite thick legs and a chest that has a lot of white feathers (a common indicator of a male in Speckled Sussex) but that may be because of age and genetics. Repost in a week or two.

Here was my appenzeller who was the loudest crowing cock ive ever had got in trouble for him since i cant have cocks/roos
