7 eggs from 5 hens

Today I got 7 eggs from 5 EEs and one of the eggs was almost 3 inches long!

with 2 yolks!
is this normal?

The infamous bullet egg. Are your girls young? From my understanding you may get a double yoke when they are just getting started and from older hens toward the end of the laying years. I found one the other day and I think that had to hurt. I just looked outside for the hen walking funny to see who laid that one!

they have been laying for a month now
she was very upset, poor thing it is not even narrow it is shaped like a normal egg just huge!

hey! my white rock hen lays those double yolkers all the time...do you think if she has some strapping lad to fertilize them for her then there will be 2 chicks inside?! Or maybe siamese twin chicks?

My alpha girl Tibet, resembles your hen and she produces doubles from time to time too. I always wndered if she was part Buff Orpington.
