I had one of my eggs form a crack on the 16th morning, but its been seven hours and still no movement. Is this normal? Ive been incubating my quail eggs at 99.5 degrees and is currently 76% humidity.

thanks for the info! They will stay at the externally pipped stage for around 24 hours before unzipping and hatching. In that time they are absorbing the remains of the yolk and the blood that's been running through the veins in the membrane so it's a really critical stage and they don't tend to move other than giving the odd peep (though some stay silent) and doing a yawning action with their beak as they absorb the yolk. Unzipping from the egg takes up to an hour and is very quick compared the the rest of the hatching stages.
Good luck with the hatch - quail chicks are adorable.
I see all of the eggs shaking? What does that mean? They will stay at the externally pipped stage for around 24 hours before unzipping and hatching. That often happens when they have pipped internally, and before that it can be when the chicks are getting into the correct hatch position.I see all of the eggs shaking? What does that mean?
