7 mo. old hen lethargic with yellow diarrhea

I know what you mean. The one that is sick here follows me all around the pen and is the first one to come to me. I hope they both make it. Let me know how yours does. I did start putting the antibiotic in all the water just in case. The vet said try it for two weeks as a preventive. Maybe you could try that also. Take care. I have a black sex link acting the same way also. Eats and drinks very little, yellowish stuff coming out back, no eggs and is very letharghic

She just died

I"m so sad. I had her in a plastic bin on the back porch. I had JUST seen her drinking some water when I heard a big flutter and flapping and saw some feathers flying. I just looked and she didn't make it.

I scooped up all the yellow poo in the coop I could find. I'm wondering if that's enough or can whatever it is possibly be spread to the others? Do I need to sterilize it w/ bleach or something? It's a wood floor.

BIG BUMMER!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry. I just checked mine and she seems about the same. It has been storming here and we even had so small hail in the early afternoon.
I would think you would need to disinfect it some how. I would put a weak bleach solution on it if it is wood that is not important. I would spray with lysol or something if I could not bleach it.
I am glad that she went kinda suddenly instead of drawing it out. I hope that is how mine goes if she is not going to make it. Again I am sorry that she passed and my thoughts are with you. Take care, dave27889

sorry I did not see this
I would treat all adult chickens for coccidiosis
generally this is what is wrong with them when acting like this
If you can get some amproylium do this
take 1 qt of dry crumbles
add 2 qts of water
in the water first put 1 tsp of amproylium powder

mix good and see if the sick bird will eat any of the wet mash

if not as the bird is quite sick by now use the amproylium powder inwater and do this:
take water before mixing with feed
and with eye dropper put several eye droppers of the amproylium water down the sick bird

always put eye dropper of liquid to the back of throat to get it into the system of the chicken

then in actual waterer put the tsp of th amproylium so that all the chickens are medicated 5-7 days

feed them all the wet medicated mash
usually adult birds eat 3 tbsp of the medicated wet mash

then feed sick birds this way for three days and their water 5-7 days medicated with amprylium powder
