7 month old Columbian Wyandotte-rooster or hen?

LOL
Once the pullets come into lay they will find their way into the pecking order and things will settle down with them.
Yes, he will be terrified of the older hens for a while, but as he matures, he will come into his own. He will eventually dominate and rule the girls, but it takes time.

This should be interesting to watch. This is only our third year keeping chickens and we’ve only had hens up until now.

If he’s anything like my rooster he won’t be docile! (But bonus my rooster attacks hawks) My rooster at that size was aggressive already so he’ll probably stay docile.

Hopefully! We haven’t suspected he was a male until just yesterday! He has blended in with the pullets so well for 7 months! Acts just like them except more timid. Yesterday I saw him try to mount one for the first time and that’s what made me take a closer look at his feathers and compare the two.

Probably he’ll be good. When Napoleon got to the age of trying to mate he was aggressive. Btw Napoleon is my rooster.

That’s a great name for a rooster!
Ours is Sprinkles. My 3 year old named him when we thought he was a girl. Not sure if we should rename him or just leave him as Sprinkles now. :lau

Sprinkles is a great name! I would leave it:)

It will be interesting to watch! Chicken TV, you know.

I’m adding a couple more pictures of the two where you can see more clearly without the hardware mesh.

I’m back, 4 months later, and still no crowing! Just over the last month, the comb and wattle have gotten noticeably bigger.
He(?) will be 1 year old next month. Why isn’t he crowing?

I was able to get a couple good photos of the 2 Columbian Wyandotte’s together. They hatched the same day.

Some don't crow much. Is he mating the girls?
