Ok so Opal is about 7.5 months old, no crowing of any sort, occasionally bawk bawks and has been going in and out of the coop more lately….but in general Opal runs away from everything (even after I clipped her eye feathers) me, the other chickens, the wind and the leaves on the ground. She will randomly peck at one other chicken, but never mounts or tries to have sex, but only messes with that much older chicken. So I’m confused as to what Opal is, and I watch the chickens from a camera at work and have never heard any crows. If it is a rooster shouldn’t it be a bit more tough and not the first bird running away lol?

Maybe not…Opal was yanking fairly hard on Klawdettes neck. Sigh wish she would either crow or lay an egg cause I really want a colorful egg and Opal is a Silked Egger and if it’s a he I’ll try for another colorful egg chicken. She has never crowed and the other 3 chickens lay eggs daily.
