Henneth has never gone pale. She squats for me. I've seen her in the nest but never caught her in the act of laying. They eat Purina start and grow with side offerings of oyster shell and grit, all egg shells are given back, veggie scraps, and in the evening a snack, usually meal worms n such. Some days no snack.
I'm beginning to think Carmen is laying brown eggs and Henneth is laying shelless eggs.

Can you possibly set up a camera in the coop to see if Henneth is indeed laying? Maybe crate Henneth for a couple of days in the run and see if she lays anything while she is separated.

Carmen is the caramel colored Easter Egger pullet. Maybe she is laying *sigh* brown eggs.
