I have been reading, over and over, that there is such varying opinions on the length of time to collect eggs for incubation before the viability decreases. Some say 7 days, some say 10. Does anyone know for sure what the LONGEST amount of time for saving is? Or direct me to discussions that may have "proven" fact?

I still can't figure out how a chicken can lay for 12 days, sit on those eggs and they all hatch. I have seen this in my chickenyard. Why do those eggs clearly and obviously hatch.

I'm not sure the longest time but I have read that if the temp. is right they can be kept longer than 10 days. If you have a cool place to keep them they stay viable longer than if they're warm. They really don't start to develop until they hit around 99. At 80 they just start to rot sooner. Hope that helps:/
