Given the past time lines on this thread, I think your chickens are just old enough to start growing them. Like a young man growing peach fuzz, they'll get one or two here, then more and more, until they develop that lovely flow of feathers. Give it a little more time and I think it will become more obvious to you.

My dilemma is that I must give a new home to 3 as the run is muddy and they've out grown the space. so I have to chose which 3 will leave and which 4 will stay!

Well, part of the decision then is going to involve if you can have cockerels or not. If YOU want cockerels or not.

That's good advice, its just that I don't know which two of the ones in the picture people are actually referring to!

I see two cockerels in that batch of newest photos. One darker and one lighter. You can see the pointed saddle feathers developing. With the mix of leg colors I'd say they were mixes of hatchery quality Buff Orpingtons and probably Buff Rocks. May have had some Rhode Island Red mixed into them a few generations back to get the yellow legs and been bred back to buffs to get the lighter color?

if we numbered them from top to bottom in the pic, which number are the two indicating? I cant see from the feathers!
