7 week BLR Wyandotte....cockerels?

I have two I believe are cockerels, but I wanted to get more informed opinions.

The darker one in the top picture sure seems to have larger wattles than the other dark ones. And the splash is just kind of a jerk.....I realize that isnt a good reason to believe its a cockerel, but call it "women's intuition"! He is a week or so older than the rest too.

Any input?

Are you just wondering about the dark one?
Also, can you get a side pic to show coloration?

I would give them more time to get to same maturity as vaguely remember this breed being difficult to tell. So much easier to tell if you have birds of the same age to compare.

I'm pretty convinced the splash is a cockerel, so I guess I am just wondering about the darker one. In the picture below, he is the one on the far right. He seems darker and less "blue" than the others.

The thing I find odd is that wyandotte cockerels at this age have relatively large combs/wattles that are red... and the pullets' pink..But Im thinking both are cockerels..
(Note: I am particularly good at sexing silver laced and just under that, gold laced. I can sex them mostly by pattern and their facial features (loss of feathers on face, face 'look') BLRW are a bit more challenging for me.)

Oh, thats interesting! She sure acts like a roo! She's kind of a bossy thing! And she will stand right up to my Rottweiler!

My Golden Lace cockerel was very easy to tell.....his comb and wattles are much different than the pullets. I think I knew by the time he was 8 weeks. Those 9 were supposed to all be pullets, but I kind of like having one cockerel with them. I had intended to keep the Blue Laced reds separate from that bunch anyway, but I was really hoping I had mostly pullets so as to avoid disagreements.

I had a bossy SLW hen Any time I would reach down to pet her she would peck me...HARD.. I hatched one chick from her and she has the same domineer

Funny! I have a bossy SLW, but she is nowhere near as bossy as this one! In fact, a Speckled Sussex is actually the top hen of that flock. She's always the first to go to the coop at night, and the first to come out in the morning. Its so cool to see the "pecking order".

They both have big combs and wattles, but in both cases those combs and wattles are pale. I think you should wait a couple more weeks, until they are feathered out better, and try again.
