Chick has been prolasping since five weeks of age, we have been trying to treat her with hemorrhoids ointment and it isn't working, she tries to poop but her organs come out, happens at least one or two times a day, she's happy and healthy besides prolasping, has anyone dealt with this and how do I treat this?

Welcome To BYC

Can you post photos of the prolapse, the chick, her poop and housing/brooder? If in a brooder, what is the temperature.

What do you feed, including treats?
Do you provide grit (crushed granite)?

Is her vent pasting over, is she straining to poop?

Any swelling of the abdomen?

Is her vent pasting over with poop? How do you clean the vent and the prolapsed tissue?

I'd try an anti-inflammatory cream to see if that helps. Make sure she's staying hydrated.

High protein feed is all i feed with some grass from free-ranging, I don't feed her grit, she isn't pasting over but is straining her butt is a little swollen but that's the only swelling there is, no poop pasting over, I just rise it off carefully with water.

I'd make sure to provide Grit (Crushed Granite) free choice.

Keep the exposed tissue coated with ointment or oil.

Hopefully this will resolve fairly quickly.
