7 week Old Chicks are sick

I think I didn't phrase my question well. If One has a cocci breakout and puts Corid in the water to treat and in addition to the Corid one feeds unmediated feed to the chicks, is the vitamin B1 (also known as thiamine) in the feed competing with the Corid to lessen the effect? Unmedicated feed all contains a vitamin mix with multiple vitamins including thiamine.

Feeding regular chicken feed to a flock on Corid is fine.
Offering EXTRA vitamins, besides what is already in the feed is NOT fine.

EXCESSIVE thiamine in a diet can reduce or REVERSE the anticoccidial activity of the drug.


One would have to assume that the writers of this book believe that feeding chickens a complete chicken feed as a normal diet. You would think they have accounted for the "regular" vitamins in a normal complete chicken feed.

Have you checked their butt's? What''s their poop like? What do you have in your first aid kit? Are they getting probiotics/vitamin supplements? What's the protein level of their feed?
