I was sitting in with them today and noticed several of my chicks (4/15) have their inner toes curling inward or sideways. Is there anything I can do for them? They don't seem affected by it but obviously I don't know. Is it a birth issue? Should I not hatch from those hens?

Unrelated but I think I have 5 roosters in my 'pullet only' purchase 🫠 unless saddle feathers this early can be mistaken. Hoping Meyer will refund me or something, I would hate to lose all this progress and money.

Did they have curled toes as chicks? As babies it would have been caused by incubation issues or problem with the parent stock and could have been treated if they were days old, but it's too late to do anything for them now. If the curled toes are new, it could be a nutritional deficiency.

Your chicks should be old enough to sex. Feel free to post pictures if you want help IDing.

They did, I just assumed it would even out over time. Today was the first time I was able to get a good examine on them.
They're most likely roo's I'm just trying to convince myself they're not since its the pretty ones I wanted to breed 😭 Meyer does have a refund policy so I will get some money back at least.

Sorry about the roosters! Curled toes (if they are hatched with them) can usually be corrected in the first few days with bracing, but not now. It probably won’t cause any issues for them.

Just noticing the curled toes on my 4 week old chicks. Still in the brooder. Adding vitE and riboflavin to their water and it's in their food. Will this get better?

At 4 weeks I don’t think it will get better. Best if fixed within the first week of life.

They did not have this the first week of life. I check them everyday.
Hmmm then yes I would suggest doing the vitamins. Whenever I have seen curled toes, it is something they are hatched with. I am not sure what causes it to appear later on. Maybe someone else will be able to help!
