This one has me a bit confused. I'm really hoping for a pullet, so I wouldn't have to keep 2 roosters. It's my first and only paint I've hatched. I know it's a bit early, but I want to know if there are any more obvious signs of it being male?

There is a little bit of development in the comb. My guess is that it is a cockerel, but it's too soon to be sure. Watch the comb for the next few weeks. Rapid development in that area means you have a cockerel. Feel free to re-post any time with updates.
Okay. I already kind of felt like it would be a cockerel. I usually take weekly pictures of all my chicks under 20 weeks old to track their development, so I can do weekly updates for this one.

Is there any point in posting some of my 5 week old silkies?

9 weeks old now.

Right now I'm personally leaning towards pullet because the stance is more horizontal and the comb looks the same as it did 2 weeks ago without much development. It's tail is also fluffy and usually kept down and has no hard feathers. The tail looks like my other pullets.

Please tell me if I'm in denial and this is a cockerel 😂

Update. I think she's 12 weeks old now. The first picture was taken 2 weeks ago. I don't think I currently have any newer ones of her standing, because she got coccidiosis last week and would only stand all puffed up. But she's all good now. The other pictures were taken around this week.

Around 14 weeks old now. I think she's a pullet. Opinions?
