Ducky was fine two days ago. Yesterday I noticed she was not as eager to investigate, and today I noticed she is ruffled out and tucking her head back onto her shoulders. Doesn’t kick up a fuss when I pick her up, sleeping more, and generally looks unwell.

She lives outdoor in approx 80*F
Fed only starter grower feed and likes to nibble at grasses.
No blood in stool. Brownish poop, little extra liquid, some white cap.
Chick eats and drinks on her own.
No poopy butt.
Crop feels full after eating but eventually becomes squishy and then flat.
Primary symptom is lethargy and poofy.

Based on my readings I went ahead and started my whole group of peeplets on Corid with no other supplements.

Any further avenues you would have me entertain here, or do I look like I’m on the right track?

we are on day 3 of Corid in her water. As of this afternoon she seems to be a bit more vocal, is moving around a bit more, and is less happy to be held or sit still in my lap. Cautiously optimistic she is turning a corner. Here she is today enjoying some scritches. Her eyes look closed cause she’s sick, but really she’s just digging those neck scritches.

By day 5 of treatment, Ducky is taking flight with her siblings and engaging in chicken behaviors like scratching and catching mosquitos out of thin air. She’s much more alert and vocal. I do think her listlessness was caused my coccidiosis. By day 3 of treatment she turned a corner.

We are continuing treatment through day 7 (the longer of the treatment options) to be sure she’s better. Today is day 6, and I would consider her recovered. She’s doing excellent, eating well, and generally enjoying life as a baby chick.

Hope this thread helps someone who may be trying to diagnose their chickens and is looking for a timeline.
