Typically Faverolle cockerels develop a comb pretty quickly. Without something to compare it to, I'd tentatively hope for hen, but I'd wait a bit to be sure. If you email or text some pictures to the breeder they may be more help sexing chicks from their own flock.
Hmmm...well if it popped up out of his birds the comb should still develop at normal rate for his flock. Are you going to try to produce some more? It sounds like both parents passed on a recessive white gene, so crossing back to mom or dad should throw more white chicks, or possibly to siblings.
