7 weeks old RIR gender

I thought I bought RIR's too & pretty sure they aren't pure bred. But they are so pretty now with their white feathers;) They looked like yours at that age & were pullets! I love my girls and they are great egg producers along with the sweetest personalities.

:) thats because two times I got Production Reds in the name of RIR

It's easy to be done when the seller's don't even know what they're selling

since these are also Purebred, means atleast they are not cross breed.
I would say that they have at least one other breed in them.
I see some Barring in the wing feather on one of the birds in picture 2 that shouldn't be there.

RIR are definitely not almost extinct,

there are lots of breeders out there. Go to a poultry show you'll see lots!
There are a few people with Reds but a hand full are true breeders.
There are around 200 good Single Comb Reds and 45 to 50 Rose Comb Reds in the U.S. roughly through December to February.
The true Rhode Island Red is a Rare Breed and with these numbers I would say they are near extinct with in the winter months.
