I collected eggs for a few days and filled up my Brinsea and Hovabator. A while back.
Today at the local swap meet, I met a BYCer and bought a dozen silkie eggs I've been coveting for a while. When I got home I candelled all the eggs, to try and fit in the new ones. Only 6 candled clear. And I dropped a good one and felt terrible. Pretty good, because this was my first time incubating my BLRW and frizzle eggs.
I squished in the new eggs, and had just enough room, I had one egg left and I just laid it on top of the others for now.
Making 71 total. I have Bantam Frizzle, LF BLRW, White and B/B/S Silkies, EE, and Mutts eggs in there.
The only problem is. I forgot when I put in the other eggs. I thought I wrote it down, but it's not in the calender and I feel crazy.
I know it's been at least a week, maybe more. Oh well. I will just keep candeling and move them when they look close.
I had really thought I wouldn't get many out of the hova bator. I'm about to throw it out the window. With no touching, the temp and humidity has been crazy. 20%-60%. And been anywhere from 90f-104f. Crazy thing.
I also bought a beautiful pair of blue silkies. And realized later it was a BYC'er whom I've been in contact with for months wanting some birds.
Anyone else got lots of eggs setting?
