I usually dont even put mine on lockdown i leave them turning but i do up the humidity

Interesting the different things that work for different folks in different situations. When you have hatched for a while, you find out what works and what doesn't for you!
Have to ask, are these in a turner? An upright, or one of those that turns them on the side..or, your hands. Lol...

What do you all DO with all these chicks? I hatch for new coop owners and city coops that cannot have roosters and who don't want farm store chick days breeds or can't find room for those giant minimum orders companies require.

Sometimes I trade with neighbors for things. Mostly I am looking for a great dual purpose chicken. Hoping to find that with the Altsteirers this hatch.

That is so neat.  This old fellow wants to write, no computer I'll bet.  Writing really is a more personal touch to it.  People tend to write more meaningful and thoughtful things when writing on paper.  I hope you hear from him soon.  92 is getting up there!  You could keep writing, and if anything has happened, then family may write you back and let you know.   Let's just hope you get a letter from him soon though.

He's been really busy selling his old chicken magazines. Says he has orders for over 500 of them. Apologized for taking so long to write. I was worried about the weather for nothing. It has been in the 80's for him at least at Christmas. This may have changed now. Off to write him back.
