11/13 Internally Pipped! 1 of them is so dark, because I can't find an air cell anywhere. I don't even know if it's alive, but I think it's moving, but it's almost impossible to tell. The other one is moving a little and looked like he was going to break the air cell.

I've added a sponge...the incubator is full, no room to add anything else. I am up to 7 pips now and the others look more active. I did briefly check the old pipped egg- the pip is adjacent to the air bubble, right on the border of it. I did not see any movement. I pealed back the outer shell only (the parts that were already broken) so I could get a better look at the beak area. The membrane underneath did not look all dried out, but I did still try to moisten it. I didn't see any movement or hear any peeping from that egg when I handled it. I put in back in the incubator. If its already dead there is nothing I can do about it, but if it is living I will find out in due time as I watch/wait for the other chicks to hatch...

The egg next to the troubled egg is making a move...acting like it wants to be the first to hatch!

Good Job!

You are having a great hatch!

I have a Serama pip this morning! It looked like it was getting close to internally pipping last night. I wonder what my silkie eggs are up to? I can't hear a thing.

You will know soon!

We have 3 babies and several pips and 2 zips. I am thinking we will have all our chicks today. No New Years babies then

Im totally thrilled!! This is my first hatch in my new homemade incubator and hatcher and so far its been a big success! I have had all fertile eggs hatching. only 2 quitters out of all 29 eggs 19 in the bator and the 10th chick almost out of its shell. Couldnt be happier. Now my hubbys complaining over all the chirping lol he will get over it ha ha ha

Well looks like New Years Eve chicks instead of New Years Day....

Out of the 5 in the Mind Reader Bator, two hatched last night and one this morning. The fourth is working on it and should be out shortly. The 5th has a pip.

Someone asked about this bator and I can't find who.....but no, I didn't make it. It is a Lyon Turn X. Somebody gave it to me a few years ago. I never tried to use it until now. This is the first hatch I've done with it and it has worked perfectly. My only complaint is that after I put the shelf liner in for the chicks to hatch on, I can't see the water reservoirs. In my dry climate, I should have a sponge in there. Seems to be doing good anyways though.
