Still damp, here is the last four Barbezieux. Shipped eggs, they made @1300 miles!

I'd eat it. How often you get one like that>?
It happens sometimes, I had 5 eggs in a cage with four hens one day, and i collect/check several times a day.
The previous day I only had 3 so

You're right double yolkers don't happen very often. I think this is the fourth double yolker I have gotten in three years of raising birds. 1 chicken egg, 1 duck egg, 2 quail eggs.
I unknowingly set a double yolk quail egg several hatches ago. Both chicks developed but neither pipped/survived. This time if all goes well I will be watching attentively to assist if need be.

They are not as easy to candle either so harder to assist
As well as being smaller so you have to be VERY careful

These are my "candlers" the smaller works great on quail eggs!

Oh, trust me I know how hard it is to candle quail eggs. I usually just check for a shadow to determine if a chick is developing. I have been in the market for a smaller/brighter flashlight. Where did you find that set?
