    The ones I have seen are more speckled but dark also.

    That is what the ones look like that I thought where maran eggs.

    The ones I have seen are more rounded than maran eggs but they may have from pullets I have never kept a welsummer long enough to lay.

    Why don't you ask your friend about the hens at the place they got the eggs from? That will give you a better idea of what you have. But if they aren't penned separately then you'll probably end up with a lot of lovely mixes.
