7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long

I had to go out of town on an emergency for 2 days I think I lost my eggs due the 30th.

Good news the eggs due the 16th (9) are still in the running and I picked up these eggs from a random farm 3 hrs away (from a fridge) due 20th.

Im asking because of the possibility of a chick getting into it.
If it has a nice safety guard u will be fine.
If not...I would turn them off.
I know several people who use big money cabinet bators for 18-19 days and then finish in still air styrofoam bators with great success.

Thanks. I hadn't thought of that they don't have much of a guard. I usually put them in my styrofoam bator for lock but thought this would work better due to humidity control. I'll turn them off and see how temp does

I could attach a guard really easily. The fans have four attachment screw holes for computer walls.

Yeah!!! Serama babies!!! They can be so difficult, I feel that all Serama that hatch are like trophies.....:celebrate

That's what I heard! Makes me feel like I won the jackpot! I have had really good luck with shipped eggs though

As I said a couple of weeks ago, I jumped the gun and set 10 Buff Orpingtons early. Happily all 10 were born on Christmas Day!
