7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long

400

My Barbezieux are doing good in my Lil brooder. Had to temporarily set them up while I'm cleaning out my large brooder. Also, getting the large pen in the barn ready for them. Setup a large dog house with a heating pad in the large pen. Need to setup another area on the opposite side of the barn. Just in case they venture over in the coming sub zero temps. Praying for El Ninio to stick around.

Yes, it was. No problem storing it. She was just mourning in her way.  She was mostly overwhelmed with getting rid of anything having to do with him. She wanted to just move on like he had never existed.
She also didn't know that I would go to any lengths to keep her home as she wanted it. She is 97 now, and still takes care of herself for the most part. She moved to an assisted living facility (where she happened to meet up with a few relatives she hadn't seen in many decades!) a few years ago. When she was last here, she was almost in tears because I hadn't wiped out her life. I love the antiques! I use them, and try to take care of them. Most things are right where she left them.

Wow nice she can take care of herself. My dad is 99 and can't anymore. Years ago when he could still do things slowly family started to do things for him and he sort of checked out. Got to remember that for myself a few years down the road.
Our furniture is mostly family stuff bits and pieces from everyone which I like due to memories. Glad you where able to keep things and that she realized it later.

Lol...IF you're meaning me, I've still been hatching since New Years. I don't think I said anything about it.  I ended up with a funny chick, OEGB with green legs. Crossed with an Easter Egger?? Not sure what went on there...:gig  The dynamics of that one are mind boggling.

I also put the one little guy down this morning. Wouldn't eat or drink, hatched on the 4th...SO tough. I eye droppered him for the last couple of days, but it was apparent he wasn't coming around. I also lost one New Years Eve chick to a gut obstruction and one that I just found dead. Maybe too much heat? I've been backing things off...but they're already trying to fly out of the box. :th

I'm planning to buy eggs and wanting mine to be almost done when I set hers. :celebrate  But I hatch on Sunday so setting on Sunday just makes more sense to keep track. (I wasn't long winded at all there...was I??) :gig

If you're meaning you...yes you very much deserve a break! :thumbsup
(Don't listen to me when I'm giving you a rough time...lol!)

That's a lot of hatching and I did not notice any rough time. It's all good. It is hard to put the ones that don't do well down. However I have tried to keep the ones that don't and they never do well.

Now I know where you can hear it talk and you can hear it sing comes from. Great song. Sets were a lot simpler back then one mic wow that must have drive the sound guy nuts. Probably didn't have all the mixing capabilities then. Fun
Once when we went to a dinner there was a guy playing fiddle at first everyone thought oh great this is going to be a long song. Boring. But as the kid got going people started clapping along with him then he got to really going and literally could not keep up with him clapping. Every one just sat in awe. Standing O when he was done. Magical
Good morning from San Jose. We're still at the wedding. It's today back home tonight. Nothin like home.

Nice are the Bresse that much bigger or is it just angle of camera? I found they grew really quickly and perhaps weren't as strong as my other varieties because of that.

Ratty (baby pigeon) is now much bigger but still pretty weird looking

. I was hoping he would be the color of his grandma (the one in my avatar) but I think he will just be grey.
