I moved the NYD chicks to the garage!

Now the bed room is mine again!

Mine got the boot as well today. Just finished up with them. Lighting brooder plate blanket etc..

That will be so cool looking.  Will have to post photo for sure.  Glad she likes it!

Got to round up the wood. I used to have some old 2/6 fence rails that I used on a set of pictures here before. Just not sure where they are. Cut in half lengthwise make a good frame size. Very weathered.

My NYD chicks are out the door also. Love hatching the little monsters but man do they smell ! Lol had an old metal box in my barn so i set it on it's side and cut a gash in the top to hang the heat lamp in then put a clamp on it for safety sake. Put some dirt in the bottom, set up their food and water and out they went.

Mine seem to be happy in their bigger digs. Warm and toasty lights on a timer so I'll go back outside after light goes out and make sure they make it under plate. Pretty sure they will they've been doing well with it that all week.

They done ok last night and the night before but tonight is gonna hit 22` so i'm going to go out and make sure they're not all piled up and freezing. That would make me feel like crap.

Also i'm going to drive the 120(approx) feet to the coop in case there's a skunk or coyote out there somewhere. Yes i'm CHICKEN ! lol

Same here.
I have a 2 million candle power flashlight I figure I could blind them with it nothing else. And I have lights on the barn.
Also am afraid of freezing them. That's why I'll be back out there. Another sleepless night. Chicks are fun.
Once when I went out there was a raccoon I must have scared it because it got up on two legs/ paws and growled at me. Sort of like the raccoon in the movie Elf.

Hahahahahahahhahaha!!!!! I still have mine in the living room. We are spoiling them rotten. We want them to be good with everyone with lots of handling and kisses!

It is fun to have a friendly chicken or two. I think mine might do better if not too friendly due to sometimes being free ranged. They are definitely not cuddled this time.

I have 2 red sex-link that are very friendly so i'm good with not spoiling these stinky little guys. I drove out and turned my high beams on AND used my Dewalt 12 v flashlight to make sure i didn't miss any boogie men lol. But i do think i have mice or a rat, digging under the concrete around my coop, coming in and helping itself to whatever it can find to eat. Gonna have to deal with that tomorrow.
