Brown window, door, and vent frames - Triscuits cut into strips
Inner window and door frame - Royal Icing
Window pane - Melted licorice gumdrops
Door knob - M&M
Door decoration - Candy snowflake off Katie's birthday cake (hey, I was desperate)
Exhaust fan above door - Royal Icing and a bit of Triscuit as a flap
Gable vent frame - Triscuit, inside Royal Icing
Pop door - Graham crackers attached and covered with Royal Icing
Decoration in front of door - White candy snowflake off Katie's birthday cake (sure glad nobody really likes those things)
Corner treatment - Sucker sticks topped with half a gumdrop
Eves on the sides - Red licorice twists
Side window frame - Royal Icing
Window pane - Melted licorice gumdrops
Eve between wall and roof - Red licorice twists
Roof - Graham crackers covered with Royal Icing and coconut
Path - Hershey's minatures, M&Ms
Tree - Gumdrop

Run...
Frame - bits of wire folded into arch attached to chicken wire with melted licorice gumdrops
Chicken wire - Netting off a bag of onions
Bottom of frame - Red licorice twists
Bushes behind run - Gumdrops
Door into run - Graham crackers
Chickens - Borrowed from Kendra's play farm

Frame around the "yard" - Red licorice twists
Snow - Fluffy frosting
Coconut sprinkled over all.

Now if I did this right (I'm on my iPad), parts listed in blue are the non-edible parts. (Actually, I wouldn't eat any of it, but that's because I know how many bits and pieces fell on the floor first)

I love it, you did a wonderful job. It is beautiful.

Very nicely done. I love the log cabin design.

The only thing missing to be official is something chicken related, or am I missing it? If not, could you add a little chicken or egg by the house?

Thank you all! Diva, I'm assuming you recognized this little coop then...... I was so tired last night I didn't realize until this morning that I put the wrong chickens in the run. I'd changed my mind about them - I had a little set that Evan got me to go with my village last Christmas. It's a couple of hay bales, a basket, a couple of milk cans, two goats (which are what started our chicken venture) and two chickens on it. Small, but very detailed. Since I have a basket, milk cans, and hay bales around my real run, I thought that it would be perfect. I forgot it. Oh well, I ain't redoing anything at this point, but it gripes me that I forgot to change that out!

My first "non-entry" was a heck of a lot easier. At least I didn't have Ken hanging over my shoulder saying, "That ain't gonna work" and "I wouldn't use that". <sigh>

@7littlegirls your log cabin is so cute! Doing stuff with the grandkids is the hightlight of my day, so I'll bet you really enjoyed that tine!

C'mon everybody, if Blooie can doo-ie, then you can too-ie! Get those wheels turning and get your entries in!

Some hints
- To make licorice twists more pliable, put them in microwave for 7-10 seconds.
- If your decorations aren't sticking very well with the Royal Icing, take them off and scrape off some of the excess then try again. Too much makes them slide instead of stick.
- To use licorice gumdrops for window panes, cut them with a knife dampened and then flatten them with dampened fingers. Otherwise your fingers will never come apart.
- A can of commercially prepared white fluffy frosting works well for snow on the base. The texture is a little more "snow-like".
- Keep a small bowl of water next to where you're working. You won't suffer the sugar spin I got from licking my fingers at first before I figured that out. Just dip and wipe with a cloth or paper towels. Don't use your clothes. Ask me how I know that.
- Cussing is optional and allowed if you are by yourself after midnight where your spouse can't hear you and offer to "help".
