Only with chickens can you get a crazy answer like that and it is true. We had 8 chickens (1 large one and 7 chicks). I lost a chick today so we went to the supply store and was going to replace it. Well...when we got there, you had to buy a minimum of 5. So, yup. As far as chickens go...8-1=12 LOL!

I completely understand that kind of math. We started out with 5, then lost 2. Went to the feed store and had to buy a minimum of 3. So, 5 - 2 = 6 here!

Planned to get 6, came home with 8.
"What extra chicks, you just counted wrong. They are hard to count with all that running around."
Lost 1 to impacted crop. Now one is getting picked on - odd numbers are NOT good. So for the good of that one poor little defensless chick, I MUST get 1 more..... I'm sure the feed store won't have a problem at all with me picking up just one chick....
