I have 2 extra Silkie Roos. One white, one blue splash. I think they were hatched in June '09 (maybe July?) by a local show winning breeder (byc'er Destiny_56085)

They came from great breeding stock but for what ever reason were not going to make the cut for her. I can't see anything wrong, but we will say they are pet quality.

I will be at the New Ulm swap on 3/21 BUT since these have not been tested I will not be bringing them into the swap area. If the deal goes down in New Ulm I will donate some of my sale to the Brown County Poultry club.

I only have 1 hen and the 3 roos are going to be too much for her

The Splash is gorgeous! But I know why they didn't make the cut- red combs. The rest of the birds look awesome. Unfortunately I can only buy NPIP tested birds. Hope you find a good home for the Splash, he is a looker! Ooh-la-la.

Hey Chris...I double checked my records and you got them on July 24th of 2009 from me. I think they were only a week or 2 at the time. The white is Premier Silkies line and if I remember right it was due to the toe spacing. The splash was a Mihalik/Porto line and should carry the lavendar gene. Some of them had the lighter skin and got culled right away because of it. The 2 brothers to this bird that I kept back are amazing though.

Let me know if you need a pullorum slip. My mom and brother are both certified testors and will be there on sunday. I've got extra bands if you remind me to bring them along. I've had tons of people asking me if I'll have any silkies along at the swaps. I have a waiting list on chicks and nothing available on the adults. If you bring those boys inside, you should get a decent price. I brought along one of my extra white boys to the Hutch swap and got $50 for him.

Thanks for the info and the "born on date". My records are obviously not as good as yours

If the bidding doesn't happen I may just bring them all (3 roos and hen) along and take you up on getting tested. What time would I have to get there for that??

I keep journals of every bird that passes through my hands. It helps me keep them straight on who I got stuff from and more importantly where my babies are going. I also keep track of potential buyers. You get those ones that e-mail or call non-stop, have me save birds for them, and then come up with every excuse not to show up. I refuse any future sales to any of the no-shows and low-ballers.

I could get you the paperwork on them sometime this week if you get through town. I have to make a trip to the cities tomorrow afternoon but will be around all night. Friday morning I have a couple appointments but will be toodling around at the farm most of the day. Sunday morning I will be running the club stand and should be there by 6:30-7am. I have to work that afternoon so I'll only stick around til 10 or so.
