For the first time every hen produced an egg today. I had 4 browns from the RIRs as usual and got 4 white eggss from the polish.
Two of the polish were laying sort of regular and one just kind of quite. The other one layed her first today.

Very noisy backyard today. The hens of course were making all sorts of noises but the cockerel was screaming all day long. He’s petty funny when the girls lay.

Grats on 8 out of 8!!
New layers in the coop IS noisy!!
I had one group of pullets that were so loud I had to close the windows so I could work on the phone.

FYI.....semantics, maybe, but can be important communication terms when discussing chicken behavior.
Female chickens are called pullets until one year of age, then they are called hens.
Male chickens are called cockerels until one year of age, then they are called cocks(or cockbirds or roosters).
Age in weeks or months is always a good thing to note.

Congrats!! That’s great!

We’ve only had that happen a couple of times - where all laying pullets laid an egg. But, in reality, we have two 43 week old pullets that have yet to lay a first egg, and another that is on her second round of broodiness, so isn’t laying currently. So to have all your pullers lay an egg is fantastic!
