How long prior to slaughter do I remove the feed and water.... 8 hrs or 12 hrs?

We usually take their food away the night before and their water in the morning and then butcher in the afternoon. That way they don't smell as bad when you butch them.

I try to remember to take their food away the night before. My butcherer appreciates not having to deal with a crop full of food.

Butcher day is Saturday morning. I'll give them some food tomorrow morning and remove it by 3pm at the latest. 12-18 hours for me. Nice clean birds inside.
