RIR are quite known to be a pretty mean, aggressive breed. I've never had a nice one. By 4 months old your EEs should be able to take care of themselves. If you watch the pen, maybe you can see who the biggest bully is and get rid of that hen.

I am just shocked that you have had problems with RIRs, chickiebooboo. I've had about 8 different breeds and I found RIRs to be the sweetest, bestest chickens ever. Not attacked even once by the roosters. Hens productive and kindly, being broody more than any other breed. So, this is all very interesting to me!

I just now got the separation pen done,it took allot longer than hoped.I ended up making it 3 ft tall close to 4ft wide and 12 long,i had given two EE, one brahma ,and an 8month RIR to a friend that is starting a coop.So now with only 3 birds in that pen i would say they have a mansion.Once again i do thank all for your input,i will try to integrate in a few months when the run is complete.
