8 month old polish hen not laying

what all do you feed?
do you have others her age?

does she eat and drink as usual?
how are the droppings?

it could be a delay due to shortened day light..
not unusual for young hens to be delayed in the winter.
I see you are in Pittsburgh..

I am from outside Philly, but now in the south.

I have BC and wheaton Marans that are 11 months old that havent laid an egg yet, oops I take that back, I got ONE egg from them. They are fed and left out just like all of the other birds. So go figure...............

The polish that I have don't lay from Oct through March. They are seasonal layers at best, and seem to like to take the winters off here in Maine. Which is fine with me, as I don't have frozen eggs to pick up either.

Your polish was probably too young to start laying before winter vacation hit, she should start in the spring.

My one Polish was born in May and hasn't started laying yet. The others that came in the same order have though, all except the Phoenix. I am guessing those two are just refusing to lay because of the cold.

Often I find that some Polish are picky about the materials they lay in. Some of mine like newspaper put down for them to shred up on their own, some like hay, some lay anywhere.

She eats layer pellets along with my other chickens when I had them. She is now in a cage by herself awaiting for us to get he some friends. We had gotten other polish at the same age who laid. Her poo looks normal. I don't really care if she lays I just want to make sure nothing is wrong.
